L. Allen Brown, owner of All That Glitters, has co-operated with Keith Wallis in providing numerous photos of fine quality, and in some cases, rare and unusual gemstones to represent their species in the New Edition of his book, "Gemstones - Understanding, Identifying and Buying".

The changes to the new edition include:

• Over 100 new photographs
• Types and uses of gemological test instruments explained in greater detail
• Several more gemstones described and where necessary updated to incorporate and cover the latest treatments and handling
• The Organics section is also expanded to cover more varieties
• A new 'Jewellery' section covering terms used and tips on care. Hall marking is also expanded to cover the latest changes and rules
• The different metals used in jewellery are described and in some cases how to differentiate
• Notes on investments and scams have also been updated
• Section on collecting and hobbies; and how it is possible to take a hands-on approach
• Properties of gemstones have been expanded giving a wider scope including crystal forms
• All appendices have also been updated
